I heard about how this movie exposed the ridiculous idea of evolution. People still want to hold on to the idea though even when scientist agree with creation. I guess its easier to believe a lie.

Richard Dawkins Gets "Expelled" by Ben Stein!
by Perry ini just got back from seeing the new movie release "expelled" which is a documentary exposing the militant culture of supression regarding intelligent design in the scientific community.
in a "million years", i never would have imagined that ben stein could get the author of "the god delusion", richard dawkins to speak favorably about i.d.
(intellignet design).

Could religious belief be considered a sign of mental illness?
by nicolaou inreligious believers clearly have tendencies to make-up "facts" and "evidence" rather than accept true research and admit even the simplest of belief failures.
they have strange ceremonies that are virtually pointless but are said to have special significance or power.. we all know certain 'christians' alive today who are fully prepared to argue that they might never die!
couldn't it be argued that such a reversion into childlike fantasy is a telltale sign of mental illness?

I think anyone that would choose being tortured for the rest of their lives instead of living a happy pain-free life is mentally ill. I have Jesus to look foward to meeting. What do you have to look foward to?

Why the WT Society is DOOMED!
by Gill inyesterday morning i was listening to 'thought for the day', on radio 4 bbc.. a rabbi was discussing why the jewish faith had survived for thousands of years.. he pointed out that the centre of the faith was the children.
because the children were put first they wanted to stay in the faith as the faith respected them and so they respected the faith in return.. the problem with the wt society is that it puts itself first and the children are just a nuisance to be sat silent in meetings, disciplined for wriggling, talking, and just being children.
the leaders of the wt despise children and only love themselves, giving only lip service to the care children should receive and more importantly the respect children should receive.. therefore, with offspring of jws leaving the wt at the rate of only 1 in every 8 children remaining, the writing is on the wall of the watchtower society.

this comment is right on time. it does make religion seem more meaningful when the children are more involved instead of pushed to the side. I agree!

I believe you. People are going to say things like they are saying here all day. They dont believe in God so why would they believe in guardian angels? People always use stuff like why didnt God do this or that well God does what he feels like doing when he feels like doing it. They dont know God or have a realistic view of God and thats why they react like that,.We know God and have some idea of how he works. All those atrosities and disasters you mention are allowed by God to happen. He can resurrect the dead and dry the tears from all of our eyes. he will do these things in his time not ours. We are just vapors here on earth, here today gone tomorrow. Worship God everyday so that he will recognize you one day.

I never really understood why parents lie to their children about such things. I certainly didnt get anything out of being lied to except learning how to lie. then when as a kid you do lie to your parents you get in trouble for it. I never told these lies to my children. i do remember having to convince my son that there was no santa clause! he had gotten this information from school boy what an influence. This was something else that drew me to the jw the no practice of holidays. i felt that way before i met them then they just sealed those feelings in me. now that im wiser though i celebrate what i want but without lies. i always felt guilty no celebrating my kids birthdays though i knew some jw that did.
oh well each to his own, just dont get mad when your kids lie to you.

WARNING deeply philosophical...Have you ever wondered...
by zeroday inour home galaxy contains up to 1 billion stars...our universe contains over 50 billion galaxies with billions of stars...why here would god take his stand...send his god son to deliver us...a big galaxy with a nondiscript star with a few planets and we are the center of gods attention...makes you wonder....sometimes...

The Death Penalty? What do you think?
by Country Girl ini, as most persons, think a sexual assault of a child is a very horrible thing.
like most parents, i would want to put the person to death that assaulted my child in that way, but is that just?
i'm two ways about it: i feel for the child, and the child's family; but at the same time i am wondering if it is deserving of death?

I think we should let the state decide what the approprate punishment is in most cases. which they do. nothing is perfect but we all know that God will make things right one day.

You must be a very strong person because the Bible says that God will not put more on us than we can bear. Hopefully you believe in God and can run to him for comfort. Go cry it out and praise God.
